Question: I had MRI LS spine and coccyx and was told it shows abnormal red and yellow bone marrow variations at both femoral heads. The nurse practioner who is also my PCP, told me the radiologist said it could be normal for me, or could show something pathological & further MRI testing needed done. A MRI of the pelvis was done and showed same thing. Nurse Practioner just wanted me to wait 6mos and be re-evaluated. I said that if you were previously thinking it could potentially be pathological, why are we waiting 6mos to re-eval without further workup? Well labs were ordered and I had them done yesterday...CBC, ferritin, sed rate. Ferritin and sed rate were normal. The CBC shows...WBC 5.5 RBC 3.92 HGB 11.4 HCT 34.4 PLT 288 NEUTROPHIL% 37.0 LYMPHOCYTE% 57.0 MONOCYTE% 5.0 EOSINOPHIL% 0.0 BASOPHIL% 1.0 and normal morphology for wbc and plts. I haven't heard from the office yet. And maybe I'm just being a worry wart, but when you throw out there possible cancer, tends to make you this way. With the MRI & lab results can you tell if this just normal for me, or should I be worried that I may have something awful like leukemia? Thanks, Worry wart
