Question: I am 45 yr old postmenopausal (
premature menopause, no surgeries) female on replacement hormones. I have had ongoing infection for many months that presents as UTI however,
urinalysis showed no bacteria, Treated for yeast by gynocologist which did not clear infection.
Urologist put me on bactrim, which also did not clear. I have had 2 gyno exams, xrays,
ultrasound (internal and external), blood work and 2 more urinalyses. All have been normal except US showed small3-4mm stone in one kidney and 3-4mm indeterminate, suggested
angiomyolipoma, in other. Urologist ordered CT and started me on 50mg macrobid/day for month. Yesterday I had IV-contrast XXXXXXX CT. Last night took first macrobid. This morning, first urine yielded what looked like pea sized, dark brown mass with long, brown sinewy-like strings. I did not feel it, only saw it toilet. I assume it came out of urethra and not vagina, but I can't be sure. It is saturday and the urology office is closed. I'm not sure what this is, or what to do... I still feel uti discomfort. No better, no worse. What could this be? Is this "normal" for UTI? Should I go to urgicare center?
