Brief Answer:
Bony injury causing swelling. Rest, ice, limb elevation and non weight lift

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

According to the MRI Report there is an amount of swelling in the Hamate bone in the wrist.

This is a non specific finding and only suggests injury.

Bony contusions usually heal with rest, ice and limb elevation.

A wrist binder and non weight lifting regime will definitely help.

Anti inflammatory Medicine like Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for 5 days after meals and Tablet Ranitidine 150mg twice a day for 5 days before meals. Keep the limb elevated. Don't lift weights or perform any heavy activity.

This should definitely help you see subsidence in the symptoms.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Suffered from this injury in third week of XXXXXXX It is three months old now. Though there us no pain , however whenever I try to swing my golf club, it pains at few angles. Why this pain? Have not taken any pain killers as I could bear pain.

Pl advise
1. When will the pain subside completely. I am amateur golfer and missing on my training.

2. Should I take wax treatment or ultrasound or oil massage? Is it advisable?

3. Should I do exercises? I had conflicting advice. If so, pl recommend exercises.

4. Any other precautions.

Thx

Brief Answer:
Needs further assessment like dynamic MRI

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

It is important to get assessed further for the wrist pain.

A dynamic MRI will help to find any ligament and bony instability that can contribute to wrist pain. I will be able to comment on recovery after I know whether or not there is wrist instability.

You can get Ultrasound therapy for pain relief. Please do upload your Xray films for my review

Regular physiotherapy to increase the strength of the wrist flecked and extensors can be done like wrist rolling. Avoid movements that cause pain or instability of the wrist which may include weight lifting, until the proper diagnosis is found.

I hope I have answered your query.
