What Does My X-ray Report Indicate?

Question: Just curious,
I had an X-ray done of my left clavicle, where I thought I had either a strain or break (from lifting a cargo patch door; no direct contact with the shoulder). The X-ray didn't show a break and the doctor said it was a sprain, so he gave me a sling and said to continue with using ibuprofen.
My question is:
Will me not wearing the sling cause it not heal, cause the tendons to completely tear, or become further damaged?
Granted I'm not doing my hobbies that utilize my shoulder, I'm just curious due to the slings immobility, such as even picking up clothes to do laundry.

Brief Answer:
No further damage expected in normal use.
Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
Your concerns are
1. further injury if not using sling - No use of sling may cause pain but no further damage is likely unless you injure it again. Skin is also a precaution to avoid any further injury.
2. minor activities: In my opinion you can do minor activities like picking up clothes for laundry but not the laundry itself
Thanx for the question Please feel free to ask any other question.
