What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?
Brief Answer:
this is not concerning
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Well, this is normal ast and just slightly elevated ALT which can be even caused by ibuprofenum. There is no need to be worried, especially if you dont have liver related symptoms such as jaundice, weight loss or easy bleeding. I suggest to avoid alcohol and medications and repeat test in 3-4 weeks. If there is still elevated alt you should do liver ultarsound and check viral markers. Wish you good health. Regards

My last test a year ago was slightly elevated as well .. I think it was a 48 ... the results came from labcorp and it's (0-44 normal range) ... That said, my diet is not very good. I eat a lot of fatty foods, red meat etc.. I hardly exercise. Mildly overweight. I'm not a drinker and my A1C = 5.8 (4.8-5.6 normal range) .. Just started taking Metformin a month ago or so. Could this be a reason for higher ALT?? ... I need to start exercising and eat healthier. This I know. Still not overly concerned?
Brief Answer:
no reason to worry
Detailed Answer:
This is really slight, almost negligible elevation of ALT. In liver damage we see alt and ast to be more than 120. Considering overweight and fatty diet, this is even good finding and it isnt even indicating fatty liver. ALso, metformin affect liver as well.So ,just change your habits a bit and thats it
