What Does My Pap Smear Test Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 11 Oct 2016
Question: Further to my 2 questions before, the report of Pap Smear has come and it's says as follows:

A) Pap Smear - normal and next to be done in 3 years. Benign cellular changes associated with inflammation equivalent to cytological class II. Moderate inflammation with mixed bacteria. Suggestions none. (This test was done almost 17 days after taking VDM Kit with no sexual intercourse in that period, where it was said there was heavy discharge and severe inflammation and repeat test was recommended. Doctor had said no STD). During this current test, the doctor had said that the cervix and the vagina were very healthy and had negligible discharge and had nothing to worry.

B) HPV test - negative for HPV HR. Negative for high risk HPV. HPV 16/18 test - not performed. Method APTIMA HPV Assay for HPV HR

Now that it is all done, does it mean nothing further to be done and we can consider all good and do Pap smear after 3 years as the doctor has written in the report ? Have not visited her regular doctor as yet. Thanks a lot

Brief Answer:
The reports are totally normal. Relax completely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome back and thanks for posting your further concern.

I have diligently analyzed your complete query and noted your concern.

I guided you earlier that there is nothing to be worried about the pap smear or the possibility of any Sexually transmitted infection. So based on all the reports there is nothing more to think about any abnormality.

The reports shows totally normal changes which could be found in any healthy female. The reports for the HPV assay is also totally normal.

You can completely rely on the reports but it is better to take a personalised guidance from treating doctor.

In my opinion there is nothing to be done actively in your case.

You can relax and enjoy the weekend.

I hope this allays all your anxieties regarding the possibility of any Sexually transmitted infections.
