What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Feb 2016
Question: Hello,

In my second ultrasound (7w1d), there was a peri sac hemorrhage measuring 1.8cm x .8cm. I had this ultrasound after bleeding for 15 mins. FHR present 151/min. After that my doctor prescribed me to complete bed rest and put me on two susten (200mg) daily. Last night i spotted some blood as well.
Is there anything to worry? Should i change my gynaec?

Regards,
Ami

Brief Answer:
Continue same treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your anxiety about this issue. I would like to know the probable date when you had bleeding when you started susten and the date of your last menstrual period to advice you better.
In case the repeat episode of bleeding was mild and has now stopped altogether then nothing to worry and continue susten, proluton and rest.
You are being given exact treatment according to international guidelines and most important thing is rest.
Continue taking rest and avoid exertion and intercourse.
This repeat bleeding is usually due to expulsion of the hematoma and thus usually harmless but cannot be taken lightly.
All the best.

Dr Manisha

Brief Answer:
No other treatment needed

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the reply. I have read the history and surely you need just rest and susten.
Since proluton has already been given there is nothing to worry and only rest will suffice.
But in case bleeding increases or fails to stop even after 3 days from now then revisit your gynaecologist.
Take care

Dear Dr. XXXXXXX

Since last night, i started to feel continous burning type feeling on the left abdomen. I spotted brown/black spot on pad in the morning as well. This cramping is slightly increasing.

Brief Answer:
Take rest

Detailed Answer:
For cramping take tablet Hyosimax and see the response.
In case the cramping persists or increases then visit your gynaecologist.
This altered coloured blood is nothing but the collection of old blood which is trickling out of cavity and is common.
Take care
