What Does My Ultrasound Scan Test Report Indicate?
Question: Hi sir, My wife is pregnant with a gestation age of 26weeks 3days. During our ultrascan it was found that the fetal lateral ventricle width is 7.5mm. I would like to know if it is abnormal and also i would like to know that whether the lateral ventricle width increases or stays constant with gestation age.

The fetal lateral ventricle width is abnormal only if it is more than 10 mm.
So 7.5 mm is a normal measurement.
Please do not worry about it.
And, the lateral ventricle remains same or decreases as gestation advances, it does not increase.

I do not think you need to go for any other scans.
Just get routine ultrasounds done during the course of your pregnancy as and when your gynecologist recommends.
MRI scan is quite safe for pregnant women, but there is no need at all to get it done in your case.
