What Does Painless Twitching Sensation In The Fingers Indicate?

Question: I started noticing a slight unpainful twitch in my left index finger about two weeks ago and it seemed to come and go. However, it has become more steady and pronounced in the last couple of days. There doesn't seem to be any other symptoms that I'm aware of, but I've always had very steady hands and it's becoming more concerning. I am 64 years old, is just natural aging, or something more to be worried about?
Brief Answer:
Hello. This sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Carpal tunnel syndrome can affect the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and half of the ring finger--any or all of these. You need to get nerve conduction studies ordered by your doctor to check for it, and it can be treated with a wrist brace and oral ibuprofen.
