What Does Presence Of Blood In Stool Indicate?
Question: My stool is puckered with red specks of blood in them . What are the causes
Brief Answer:
Constipation is the most common cause!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this blood in your stool. The most common cause of blood in formed stool is constipation. If you have hard stools, that is the most likely cause and what you need to do is to drink much water fruits, vegetables and regular exercise to address this.
Also, you are 55years, have you had the chance to start your regularly recommended colonoscopy? Also, for how long have you had this observation of blood in your stool?
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

This issue is a few weeks old. I do have acute constipation I had a colonoscopy at age 50.
Brief Answer:
I will say work on relieving constipation at this time!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I will say constipation is the most likely cause. Do regular physical exercise, drink much water, increase fruits, vegetable and fiber intake. These measures will help to resolve the constipation. My thinking is that the blood will disappear with resolved constipation. If this fails, then at that time will i recommend further examination. With a normal colonoscopy 5years ago, there is no need for another at this time.
