Brief Answer: XXXXXXX this is a complete and easy explanation as regards the report.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

I am Dr. Neel Kudchadkar and I will totally guide you in this situation.

For this opportunity to help you I am excited and grateful. We shall hope for the best. It will work out well.

Let's start. Let's keep it simple.

1. The "Sigmoid" means a part, a small section of the intestine.
2. "lesion" means an injury, a trauma, a part of the body that is somehow
not normal, and must be checked, so that we can figure out, what to to
;and what treatment is best to cure the problem, that is causing the "lesion".
3. "Focal" means at one point, at one spot. Like the rays of the sun concentrated
by a magnifying lens into a single point.
4. "increased metabolism" means that the "lesion" is using more energy from
the body than normal, and must be checked and investigated.
5. "Colonoscopy" means that a catheter (a plastic-metallic small bore tube with
a camera) is inserted into the anal region and scans the intestines for any
problems. Photographs of different parts of the intestine are taken.
Colonoscopy requires that the person take purgatives, clear the bowels
of matter and then, under expert supervision, have the intestines checked.
6. "Barium Enema" means that a liquid solution of a chalk colored liquid called
barium is given via enema (a tube carrying barium into the intestines).
Then an x-ray is taken. The barium shows up as white on the x-ray. This
is in contrast to the grey and black of the intestines, thus showing us, how
and where and what the "lesion" (the problem) is.

I hope you are now satisfied and can understand perfectly, what the doctor
means.
