Brief Answer:
Neck CT without contrast or XXXXXXX
Detailed Answer:
Hello again XXXXXXX
CT scan of your neck with 3D reconstruction is intended to evaluate bony structures, so there is no need to use intravenous contrast (or dye).
Hope this helps. Take care.

Hi Dr Spaho, We got XXXXX 's 3D citi scan results of the cervical spine. It says everything is normal except for subtle loss of natural lordosis of the cervical spine. My question is 1) Is this in conflict with the chiropractor finding of rotation of C1 and C2 that I sent to you before 2) You had mentioned before that this scan should be done before any chiro manipulation. Should we do chiro manipulation of the upper cervical spine related to rotation of C1 and C2 ? Please give your XXXXXXX and clear opinion.
A neurologist has suggested to try Indocin 25 mg for one month. What do you suggest? Thanks a lot.

Brief Answer:
In this case chiropractic manipulation is not necessary.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
Loss of lordosis without other lesions means that neck muscles are tensed and they may be the cause of symptoms.
Since it is not mentioned in 3D neck CT results rotation of C1and C2 doesn't exist, so, in my opinion, chiropractic manipulation is not necessary.
Indometacin is a NSAID drug and should help improve symptoms in this case.
In addition, muscle relaxers such Tiocolchicoside and simple physical therapy procedures may help further in controlling and improving symptoms.
These issues should be discussed with the primary care Doctor.
Hope I've been of help.
Best regards.

Also can PRP( Platlet Rich Plasma) injection help my neck muscles? Thank you again.
Also can PRP( Platlet Rich Plasma) injection help my neck muscles? Thank you again.
Brief Answer:
Simple solutions first.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
Since 3D CT scan didn't show any lesions of your cervical spine, other imaging studies ( especially those that use radiation ) like dmx can be postponed.
Injections including platelet rich plasma, also can wait for now.
In my opinion, simple solutions should be tried first.
Hope this helps. Take care.

Hello Dr Spaho,
Thanks for your response. can Indometacin and Tiocolchicoside be taken together? If money is not an issue, are there better drugs than these. How long should I try these to judge if they will work or not. Thank you. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Both these drugs can be used together.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again XXXXXXX
Those drugs could be used together and are amongst the simple treatment ways that may improve your symptoms.
(simple solutions first)
They should be used at least for two weeks to see the full effects.
Other measures that can help are warm procedures on neck, soft cervical collar when standing too long or traveling for two weeks.
Hope I helped you.
