What Does The Ultrasound Report After Medical Termination Of Pregnancy Suggest?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
I had a Medical termination of Pregnancy through pills on the 19th of March. I had an ultrasound today . My report states Anteverted Mild bulky uterus , No obvious retained products seen and Endometrial thickness - 3.8mm(single layered). POD - Clear.
Whats the reason for a Anteverted mild bulky uterus mean? Also, is there anything alarming that i need to address upon ?
Normal study.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
Anteversion is the position of the uterus in the pelvis and is the commonest one observed. The uterus after pregnancy remains bulky as the muscular wall of the uterus thickens during pregnancy.
Involution of the uterus occurs after an abortion or delivery, yet, the size of a non-pregnant uterus is never achieved.
Your sonogram report shows normal study at this stage. The abortion has been successful with no retained products. There is no need to be worried. You may relax.
Please use regular contraception further on until you wish to conceive. Maintain a healthy weight and a healthy diet.
Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.
regards,
