Question: I just took my blood pressure the reading is 112 over 84. Heart rate is 106. I have been moderately active for about an hour. I am over weight and starting a weight loss and conditioning program with a trainer in the morning. I'm 48 years old, my height is 5'10, and my weight is 239lbs. I'm told I need to be below 200lbs. Is my blood pressure too low at this time or a bit high?

Brief Answer:
Your blood pressure is in normal range

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
A blood pressure recording of 112 / 84 mm Hg can be taken as the normal range. Blood pressure is a dynamic parameter and varies with physical activity and mental anxiety.

To know your blood pressure under normal conditions please have it recorded after 30 minutes of physical rest and minimal mental anxiety.

Wishing you the best with your weight training.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
