What Does This Abdominal CT Scan Report Indicate?
Question: In April a abdominal & pelvic CT scan showed lower left side diverticulosis, all other organs looked normal & no obstructions. At that time I had achy Right side pain that moved up & down. Now it's back with gas & moves throughout colon. Would CT scan have shown cancer, tumor, growths, etc. I am under extreme stress.

Your findings suggests diverticulosis in left side of colon.It doesn't necessarily mean cancer.
These are outpouching of mucosa and submucosa through the muscular layers of colon wall.It may be due to aging,constipation,hereditary etc.
These may present as pain,bleeding,constipation,diarrhea,etc.It may be asymptomatic also.
You may need colonoscopy and follow up.Follow up is important because it may turn malignant.
You should take high fiber diet.
Don't worry about cancer though it is a risk factor for left sided colon cancer.

the CTscan was with contrast and it was mild diverticulosis. my white count was normal the red count was actually high.i am looking for some piece of mind that even though not a virtual colonscopy would the CTscan show cancer, tumors, etc.the fact that it didn't show blockages show that the colon looks good. would something serious show up in this type of CT scan? what is what is causing the pains now could it be stress,
