Hba1c and glucose tolerance test
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX,
Greetings from health care magic!!! I am Dr Thakker and shall be answering your question.
I will try my best to answer your question and help you out.
Your random blood sugar is 194 with glucose in the urine. Your fasting sugar level is normal but the post lunch is impaired. Since you are consuming colas, they contain a good amount of sugar leading to glucosuria.
I would advice you the following:
HbA1c levels.
Glucose tolerance test.
Since you are in the borderline grey zone, these 2 tests will help us to clarify if you have diabetes. We can then start you on a low dose metformin if these reports are abnormal.
I would like to know the exact values of the AST, ALT, Bilirubin levels and latest sonography reports in view of the fatty liver.
Please let me know if you consume alcohol? Do you fast for religious or health reason?
Please get back to me with the above information.
I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.

impaired glucose tolerance test
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX,
Thank you for providing me the detailed information and blood report.
In view of the impaired glucose tolerance test I would recommend you to restart metformin 500 mg twice a day. It is also useful in treatment of the fatty liver because this can be non alcoholic steato hepatitis. I would also recommend you to have vitamin E 400 mg capsules once every day.
We need to work on your diet and introduce exercise in your everyday routine. I would recommend you to take rosuvastatin given your total cholesterol is a little high and LDL ( bad cholesterol ) is 129. your LDL target us below 100mg/dl. It is advisable to avoid colas all together.
I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.
