Question: What is ureaplasma parvum? Can this bacteria cause harm to my uterus or ovaries over time? Does it affect pregnancy? I have been diagnosed with it twice and I have never heard of this type of infection.

Brief Answer:
Yes,it can affect uterus, ovaries and pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
I can understand your concern .
I would like to inform you that ureaplasma is a bacteria and it infects the genitourinary systems that includes vagina, cervix, uterus ,ovaries along with urethra and urinary bladder . It also affects placenta and amniotic sac that is covering over fetus so it can cause harmful effects on developing fetus including premature birth .
So in my opinion you should consult your physician for proper diagnosis with culture techniques and adequate treatment . They can be treated very well with proper antibiotic course .
Hope this will help you . If you have any other concerns please feel free to message me . Thanks for contacting HCM .
