Multiple causes, please see description

Detailed Answer:
Hello

My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. There are multiple of causes of excessive sweating. Following are most common causes:
> Congenital/genetic
> Hyperthyroidism (most imp in your case as you are taking synthyroid)
> Diabetes
> Alcoholism
> Infectious diseases like tuberculosis
> Rheumatoid arthritis
> Stroke
> Heart failure
> Malignancies like leukemia and lymphoma
> Certain Drugs like vitamin supplements, B.P medications, psychiatric drugs

In my opinion most common causes in your case could be hyperthyroidism & hypoglycemia as i can see you have both conditions.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!

Brief Answer:
Need some further details to guide you better

Detailed Answer:
Hello Maam

Thank you for getting back with the query. In my opinion first thing that we need to do is narrow down the causes. As in your case we need to first focus on hyperthyroidism & hypoglycemia. Can you please answer following questions so that i can guide you better:
1. Since when are you having this problem?
2. Does excess sweating occur at a particular time?
3. For how long does it take to settle?
4. Do you do any thing for it to settle?
5. Do you feel dizziness, nausea or vomiting at the time of episode of sweating?
6. Do you have history of heat intolerance, constipation, diarrhea or weight loss?

I will be looking forward for the answers to conclude the discussion in the best interest of yours.
Thank You

Can't say exactly when this started, but at least several years.
Can occurr at any time, but I'm USUALLY doing activity[not strenuous].like walking around in store, or some housework.
It will settle when I rest for awhile.
When at home , I use a small personal fan blowing directly into my face.
No other symptoms present.
I am intolerant of heat, but this occurrs regardless of temp. Many times I will be in air conditioned space where it is cool.No weight loss [wish there were], but because of IBS, diarrhea occasional problem

My A1c tests have been OK

Brief Answer:
Record blood sugar level at the time of sweat attack

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them in detail.

HbA1c is used to check compliance of insulin by patient.
Sweating may occur if at particular time there is decreased level of blood sugar level.
In my opinion low blood sugar level could have caused this problem.

If I were your treating doctor then I would have advised following things:
> get a thyroid profile level to check if thyroxine levels are normal or increased.
> Whenever you get sweating then check your blood sugar levels right at that moment & record it.
> keep some sweets always with you in your pocket. If you feel sweat/lethargy then takes a bite of it.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health!!
