What Is The Cause And Treatment For Knee Pain?

Question: Hello Dr. XXXXXXX
Thank you again for your response to my initial question. It's been three weeks since my physician reviewed the MRI results with me and my right knee is still quite painful. Since he did not provide me with any treatment options, except to not play certain sports activities, I have continued to work (including weekly air travel), which contributes to my knee pain. It's been very difficult to access stairs and walking any distance, with luggage. Several instances, I've succumbed to utilizing a wheelchair at the airports for assistance. My physician advised me to contact him in
September, if my knee pain persists, but in the meantime, I'm frustrated with the lack of treatment options(if any). Should I schedule a new visit with another orthopedic doctor? Please advise.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
As there is possibility of hairline subchondral fracture , you need to apply knee brace during walking. You need to do quadriceps exercises to strengthen the muscle around knee. Physiotherapy modalities like IFT/ TENS will be helpful for early recovery.
If your pain persist, it is better to schedule a new visit for detailed examination and further treatment plan according to that.

Hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any more concern. You can share your progress to me.
Wishing you speedy recovery...
Warm regards.
