What Is The Dosage Of Amitriptyline For Sleeplessness?
Question: Ive been prescribed amitryptiline 25 mg for help with sleep due to severe tinnitus. Dr says1 to 3 pills at bedtime. I weigh 105 lbs, 1 pill isnt quite doing it?

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.
Medication like amitriptylin may need some time to come into full effect, it may take some weeks. So to judge whether 1 pill is effective I would wait at least for a couple of weeks. If you see no effect at all after that time then the dose can be increased by one more pill. Personally I wouldn’t go beyond 2 pills at the same time.
I have to warn you though that success in the treatment of tinnitus is not guaranteed. Amitriptyline helps in many patients, but not in all of them, will have to wait and see.
