What Is The Dosage Of Prednisone For Asthma Exacerbation?
Question: My son was given prednisolone 15mg/5ml. The directions state take 4 teaspoons daily for 5 days. He was having an asthma exacerbation.
In my experience prednisone should be tapered, and also that dose of 60mg seems high for a 15 year old.

My son is approx 150-155lbs
In the past they would prescribe something over the course of 5 days and every 2 days it would be lowered about 10mg until we ended up doing a day of 10mg then D/C I found this strange that with such a high dose they did not suggest a taper
