Question: yes my question is how much your blood sugar raises when you take a 10 daycourse of prednisone? Does the rise in your sugar stay longer then the time you stop taking prednisone until it is out of your system? thanks

Rise in blood sugars will depend on dose and pt.

dear sir, hi! blood glucose will definitely rise with steroids. Higher the dose, longer the course, higher the rise, longer the stay. but there is no exact mathematical formula to tell how much steroid will make how much high sugars and how long will it stay. it depends upon the dose of steroid, patients' BMI , patients' insulin reserve , co morbid condition and other drugs going at the same time.
