When Should A New Pack Of Medicine To Regulate Periods Be Started?
Question: My 14 year old has been taking Orth Tri Cyclen 28 for a month to help regulate her prolonged, painful and heavy menstrual cycle. She's also taking it to help calm her escalating normal acne. She had her period the other day which was even more painful, heavier flow and generally just awful side effects. Her acne has run rampant and is no where under control. Our next step to curb the acne is Acutane or perhaps XXXXXXX I'd like to take her off the pill and just stick with the medicine she can take to help with the cramping during her period and begin a very low dose of Acutane. Another alternative the doctor offered was Lo Loestrin Fe. My question is what is the process of taking her off the pill. She will fininsh the pack tomorrow. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Start new pack after cycles
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare Magic.
I have gone through your query and Would like to reply in detail as follows:
1. let her finish the present pack of Medicines by tomorrow as it is last dose.
2. Wait for the cycles to occur.
3. Start the new pack of Loestrin once she gets cycles just like she used to take the old one.
4. Its all same schedule just a different drug. No extra precautions required.
I hope your doubt is clarified. Let me know if you wish any other information.
