Why Does My Scrotum Sweat While Sleeping?
Consult a dermatologist & Endocrinologist.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for the query.I understand your concern,
* The problem like yours can mostly be due to-
- Skin problem- there is lot of loose skin hanging from scrotum..these skin folds increase the temperature of the area by 1 degree than body temperature. More so while sleeping with light blanket on body/ with hot atmospheric temperature / tight fitting, synthetic undergarments.
Obesity increases the problem.
This may cause fungal infection with itching in the groin.
- hormonal imbalance- due to psychological stress, tension/ diabetes / some adrenal & parathyroid conditions can cause it.
* I would suggest to consult a Dermatologist & an Endocrinologist to have a complete assessment of the problem & follow the specific advise given.
Self care-
- Avoid / manage psychological stress if any with mind concentration techniques/ counselling,
- Use cotton, comfortably loose undergarments.as you are rightly doing.
- Have a cold water shower before going sleep, use dusting powder like Candid powder after bath
- Let the bed room be comfortably cool as you are already doing.
- Try to avoid weight gain/ reduce excessive weight.
- Have a good life style with optimum diet/ exercises/ sleep/ tension free mind.
- Start to follow the specific advise given by expert
By tracing the cause with help of experts.. followed by cause specific management along with self care I am sure you would definitely overcome the irritating problem of sweating, which often disturbing your sleep.
I hope you found the answer informative & useful. Any follow up query is welcome.
I request for grading the answer in case it's useful...before closing it.

I've actually just noticed that the sweating is actually coming from my perineum, and not exactly the groin. The sweating has only seemed to start around a week ago. Would that change your answer in any way? I also seem to sweat throughout the day there.
get investigations done for bowel infection/ infestation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for the follow up query.
In case you find the sweating from perineal area , I would suggest stool examination for possible helminthiasis ( worm infestation) / E coli infection of bowels... which can lead to stress in anal area with excess of sweat.Consult your family physician for specific drugs to treat the cause,
He will also decide reference to dermatologist/Endocrinologist according to need.
In personal care I would suggest to drink plenty of water to keep body temperature optimum. Also reduction of smoking would help,
However I maintain getting hormonal assays done to detect any endocrinal problem.. because that needs an early diagnosis & sufficient treatment makes a magical difference in managing the sweating.. if that's the cause.
Hope you are satisfied with the answer.. any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.
