Will Soap Have An Impact On The Effectiveness Of Celexa?

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Sep 2015
Question: I’m taking liquid Celexa. I washed the plastic stopper that the syringe connects to with soap but I don’t know that I got all the soap off before I used it again. (It’s a pointy stopper used to make sure extra liquid doesn’t come out of the bottle – I’m not sure if stopper is the right term.) If a very tiny trace amount of soap got into the Celexa, would it deactivate it or be problematic?

Brief Answer:
No it won't affect

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Your concern about deactivation of celexa is understood but according to available literature no such deactivation reported. Although tiny amount of soap will not harm you or drug to significantly but please note that use of soap without proper cleaning can contaminate the syringe and drug. If such contamination reaches to significant level can cause systemic infection and subsequent health issues.

I hope this answers your question.
