Hello! If you child has had multiple ear infections with upper respiratory infection then there is a more likely reason that the lymph nodes which are in the neck and below the ear has reacted to that and become enlarged. If he doesnt have a active infection and isnt too sick there isnt anything to worry about the nodes. The tubes in the ear will help in draining the fluid behind the ear drum. Since he is 1year of age this is all that is required and he should get better. I hope you found my response to be helpful and informative.
