10 Year Son, Diagnosed With Stress Fracture. Will This Affect Him As He Grows?
my 10 yearold son was diagnosed with a stress fracture (possibly two) on his talus bone. His doc reccommended a 4 week stint in a cam-boot. However my son is a string bean of a guy and has a had time walking with the cam-boot because of it's weight. Could he/ should he use crutches to help get around while wearing the boot? And I've also heard that a stress fracture in this particular bone is rather uncommon, will this affect him as he grows?
Stress fracture is caused by over use and chronic stress on a bone. Growth will not be affected by stress fracture unless growth plate is involved in any injury. Do not worry regarding that.
