11 Month Old Baby Is Suffering From Loose Motion. What Could Be The Reason ?

Dear Doctor, My 11 month old baby boy is having loose motion, though he is active, eating well. Im giving him all kind of home made food & also fruit with 1 tsp of wheat germ. I gave him kadi ( made of curd & gram flour), could that be the reason? he is totaly on breast milk .he weighs 11 kg & crawling. keep puting anythg in mouth & teething too Im bit concern, pls advice thanks

the reason for your child's loose motion could be an infection.
please consult a paediatrician immediately.do not delay as it could lead to your child getting severely dehydrated.

In this age group the commonest cause is ROTA virus(IF not vaccinated with this vaccine).No food causes diarrhoea if not unhyiginic .Teething dont cause diarrhoea.If your child is otherwise active then no need for any aggresive treatment.

The loose motions of your baby can be due to reasons like infection;teething;and even in case of food intolerance.Since you say he is active and playful the reason may be teething diarrhoea also.Please give him enough water with ORS to keep him hydrated.Better consult a Paediatrician for examination and proper treatment to stop the motions and prevent dehydration.
