11 Months Old Had Incidence Of High Grade Fever, Initially Diagnosed UTI, Now No Bacterial Growth. Suggestions ?
My 11 months old daughter had incidence of High Grade Fever for 12 hrs having 5-6 spikes of 103-104 fever. The (Blood Test) TLC was 20.000 and Urine Examination revealed 15-20 pus cells and traces of Protien. The Creatinine was 0.1.and initially diagnosed as UTI .Later the Urine Culture shows Occasional WBCs with HPF and no bacterail growth after 48 hrs.Kindly suggest the follow up.
hello....
No need to worry.
You should get her evaluated once for her complaint to get her examined physically by a pediatrician.
If fever in > 102 and TLC >1700, its indicates Bacterial infection.
You have to do complete fever profile with Chest X - Ray.
After investigation your pediatrician will proscribe appropriate Antibiotic that cover infection.
I would advice:
Antipyretic for fever.
Cold sponging.
Plenty of water to keep your baby hydrate.
Soft and liquid diet.
Thanks,
i wish will recover soon
