12 Year Old, 56 Lbs In Weight. What Should Be Done To Increase Weight And Become Healthy?

Hi, my name is Amiyah, and I have a serious problem. I am 12 years old, about to become 13 in about 4 months and I weigh 56 lbs. My mother was 80 lbs when she was pregnant with me, so my family says its genetics, but I am not happy with my weight. I also have the FASTEST metabolism ever. I would do anything to gain weight. I try everything. From shakes to whole milk. Nothing works. My mother thinks there is no reason to go to the doctor so I decided to come here and just do what I need to do to become healthy.

Hi

You have not mentioned about your height.
If your height is fine for 12 yr old and its just the weight which is low and there are no other symptoms or frequent illnesses, you need not worry much.

Genetics, Dietary habits and exercise influence one`s weight.

One cannot do much about genetics.
But dietary modifications can be done. You may include more of carbohydrates and fat- Cereals, butter, ghee, cheese, peanut butter etc in your diet. You may have lot of dry fruits and nuts.

If even after 2 to 3 months of following the dietary changes too, there is no improvement in your weight- then you should be happy with your slim and trim body.

But if your height is also less or you have any other abnormal symptoms, its better that you consult a doctor and discuss in person.
