Hello there,

As your child is suffering from respiratory infection, it is expected that he would have bad breath.

You can get his nose examined by an ENT specialist and provided there is no foreign body lodged inside or any definite cause, you need not worry. The rhinitis itself can contribute to nasal odour. If there are frequent episodes of sneezing it could be allergic rhinitis and would require anti allergics.

Please give a more detailed account of his complaints. If the nose is blocked that can result in noisy breathing. You can use Nasivion P drops and initiate a course of antibiotics if the child's condition does not improve. Give paracetamol to keep his temperature in normal range if there is fever.

Do observe for any foul or bloody discharge from the nose as that may require a local examination of the nose by an ENT specialist.

Take care.

Pediatrician Dr. Kaushik K Murthy's  Response
hello, gud evening, as per the descriptions , ur child may be having an upper respiratory tract infection, because foul smell comes mostly because of infection or bad oral hygiene. check the child s body temperature, check his nostrils for any foreign body lodged in his nose accidentally- ground nut or peas or any small objects, check his oral cavity for any discharge, regarding the treatment- only supportive care can be advised on the query right now- like clearing his nasal cavity with salaine nasal drops, steam inhalation , oral hygiene, maintainin his nutrition status, most of all examination by a doctor in person very much important .
