3 Year Kid, Headache, Lump Above Ear, Body Getting Hot. Head Got Hit On Table. Should I See A Doctor?

My 3 yr old daughter hit her head on the coffee table 2 days ago there is a small lump above her ear she is complaining on headache and her body gets very hot we use paracetamol repository adol and temp comes down. We think she has a cold and that this is causing heat and headache. We r worried should we take her to see a doctor?

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Though you have provided some details you have not mentioned since when is your child having fever and upper respiratory tract infection. If the lump above her ear is following the injury against the coffee table then nothing needs to be done at present. However the fever needs to be monitored and if there is no improvement then an examination by the doctor is warranted.

i can feel your concerns

is the lump appear following injury?

does she has sorethroat or runny nose?


i advise you to consult your docctor for a proper clinicall examination

source of infection and fever should be sorted

give her paracetamol and ibuprofen alternatively for fever

you can give these medicines 6 hourly

tapid water sponging also helpful

avoid cold and soft drinks

wishing her a speedy recovery
