3 Yr Old Vomited, Has Ear Pain With Fever, Gave Crocin. Suggestions ?
dear doctor, my 3-y-old daughter weighing 12 kg vomited this morning and again in the afternoon. In the morning she was complaining of ear pain. she has about 99 degree F fever at present and is sleeping .. what should I do ? i gave her crocin liquid 6 mL ... now should I give her Clamp KID ?? or what you suggest?
hello there,
this may be some viral illness that should subside on its own within few days.
its alright to give crocin syrup if the child has fever, antibiotics should be started only if indicated, eas ache can be there due to Upper respiratory infection in oropharynx or nasopharynx which is mostly viral.
best you can do is to get your child evaluated by your pediatrician who would be in a better position to assess the need of any antibiotics and antiemetics.
hope you are guided well with my answer
wish your child a rapid recovery
regards
Dr. Amit Kumar
Hello,,,
May be its viral, you can continue symptomatic treatment. If she will not recover with symptomatic treatment and symptoms worse You should get her evaluated once for her complaint to get her examined physically by a pediatrician.
I would Advice:
Avoid exposer from cold.
Keep your baby warm
Stem inhalation (with precaution)
Do not give Antibiotic. Clamp kid,(It should be given on doctor supervision)
Wishing your child a speedy recovery.
Thanks;
