30 Weeks Pregnant. Have Leg Cramps And Lower Abdominal Pressure. Advised Proluton Depot, Dexamethasone. Affect The Baby?
i am 30 weeks pregnant. today i went to doctor for periodical check up. i was having leg cramps and lower abdominal pressure since last 6-7days. my doctor prescribed proluton depot 250mg & dexamethasone 6mg injections. i was going thru the net for details of medicines prescribed. i am really worried now for normal birth of my baby & my baby's health. please advice/suggest for having normal birth of my baby.
Dear user, welcome to healthcare magic. Progesterone injections, suppositories or oral forms are useful in pregnancy in case we suspect a risk of preterm delivery. Progesterone helps uterine muscle relaxation and prevents contractions. There is no harm for you or your baby. Dexa methasone injections are a form of corticosteroids prescribed to accelerate and enhance the baby's lung maturation. They may cause a temporary rise in your blood pressure and blood sugar, but no harm to you or your baby too. I suggest you have some rest, avoid sexual intercourse, treat vaginal infection if any, take the medications as your doctor prescribed and don't worry at all. Good luck itch your pregnancy. Dr. Ahmed Bahaa.
