Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
5 Year Old, Sore Calf Muscles, Small Discoloured Spots On Legs, No Itching, Marks. Treatment?
5 year step daughter old complaind about sore leg( calf ), thought she had a cramp ,on closer inspection looks like she has a couple small discoloured(like an old bruises or healed bug bites) spots on her legs, two of the spots are lumpy( like a small marble ) the marks are not as big as the lumps . They don t itch , but the bigger one is painfull to her particularly if touched or rubbed
The description provided by you suggests that your daughter has either of the following:
1. Insect bite
2. Blunt injury
Though it is difficult to say what it is without seeing it I suggest that you can wait for a day or two and see how it progresses. In case it subsides well and good otherwise it shall be better to get her examined by a doctor. In the interim you can give her paracetamol/acetamenophen 7.5-10 ml. three to four times a day along with warm fomentation to reduce the pain.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
