62 Years Old, Have Lower Back Pain. Advised Operation. Prescribed Ace Proxyvon. Suggestions?
I am 62 and I suffer from lower back pain in L4,L5,L6 region. Six months ago I was advised operation by the Neuro surgeon. However my physician has advised against operation. The pain is acute and was advised Ace-Proxyvon whenever I experience acute pain. I also use a heat pad that helps and use a Lumbar Belt. Please advise
Ace proxyvon is a combination analgesic medication that contains acetaminophen and aceclofenac. Your options are continued medical management or surgery.
The decision to have surgery or continue medication and therapy is up to you, you have final say. You should consider the pros and cons of each treatment option, it would be important to determine why you GP does not agree with the surgical option and discuss his or her concerns with the neurologist who might be able to give better insight.
I hope this helps
