8 Months 7 Days Pregnant. Advised Early Delivery Of Baby And Take Injections. Is This Safe To Deliver So Early? Injection Useful?
hi, mam i am 8months 7days pregnant and as i had previous c-section delivery before one and a half year due to which my stitces are stressed. so, my doc adivsed me to deliver the baby within 2-3days and for today advised me 2 injections of dexamethasone sodium phosphate of 6mg at the interval of 12 hours. please suggest me is it safe to deliver the baby so soon and how this injection is useful?
Hi Thanks for writing to us. Normally 8 months and 7 days is too early for the delivery of a baby. The baby would be preterm, the injections are supposed to enhance the lung maturity of a child born prematurely, to help it breathe better. However, at times, if the previous C section stitches are under tension, they might give way, threatening the life of you and your child. Only your treating doctor will be able to say if this is genuinely the case. Have a second opinion and then proceed. Take care.
