82 Years. Severe Stomach Pain, Vomiting. Food Related Or Serious?
My mother (82) is visiting from TX and is experiencing severe stomach pain, causing her to vomit. No temp, no pain elsewhere. I don't know if I need to call 911. She is definitely not able to sit in a car or in an office. She has had nothing to eat or drink for 15 hrs. Don't know if this could be food-related from eating richer food than usual or if it could be something medically serious. Please advise. Thank you.
If the pain is located in the upper right abdomen and radiates to the back, gallstones or pancreas inflammation might be the reason.
If the abdomen is bloated, there is no stool and gas, bowels obstruction is possible.
As your mother is 82, she has lower tolerance for dehydration. So she might not take as much as regular person. That is why I suggest you to take her to the hospital, no matter what has caused the symptoms.
Hope this will help. Regards.

82 Years. Severe Stomach Pain, Vomiting. Food Related Or Serious?
Hello! Thank you for the query. It can be food related gastrointestinal infection. This is the most common reason of such symptoms. However peptic ulcer, gallstones, pancreas inflammation or even bowels obstruction are also possible. If she has upper middle abdominal pain, peptic ulcer or stomach inflammation can be the reason. It could get triggered by a meal.
