Abdominal Exercises, Popping Sensation In Upper Left Abdomen, Soreness. Cause Of Worry?
Hello, I recently went to the gym, and I was training my abs (after a long time) pretty hard, and I felt something pop out in my upper left abdomen area, I was worries and when I stood up, and after 5 mins my abs felt normal again, but was still a little sore. I thought this happened because I worked out my abs after awhile, but I tried again today and something similar but less intense happened. Can you please help me? Thanks

With the available described symptoms, there appears to be possibility of hernia with tear in rectus abdominal muscles.
Presence of something bulging along with little sore suggests the diagnosis.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist/ general surgeon and should go for thorough check up.
You should also go for ultrasound imaging for better clarification.
If hernia is diagnosed, then you should go for tear correction and should wear LS belt for strengthening abdominal muscles.
You should avoid weight lifting for coming few days.

It could be hernia through a defect in upper left abdomen area.
Another possibility is hypertrophy of muscle in upper left abdomen.
Please consult your surgeon if the swelling reappears after straining.
Or else it could be physiological.
