Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been experiencing abdominal tenderness, bloating, gas, stomach churning and diarhea for about 2 weeks now. within 30 minutes of eating I am running to the bathroom about 10 to 15 times. the diarhea is very light colored and sometimes foamy and floaty. my stomach gets more enlarged as the day goes on and I have lost weight since I can only eat crackers, bananas, and mashed potatoes.
Diarrhea does not usually persist for this length of time in most persons.
It can be related to different causes such as : (1)infection- Infection with bacteria, viruses or parasites can cause persist diarrhoea. This can be assessed by sending a stool sample to a lab for analysis.
If there is an infective cause then the appropriate treatment can be started.
It would be best to visit your doctor for an assessment which will include physical examination, a stool sample to the lab and imaging tests to look at the intestines.
I hope this helps
