An Insect Bite That Has Swollen Up With Pain. Any Ideas What Is This ?

MY WIFE WAS REACHING BEHIND THE COUCH, AND GOT BITTEN BY A SMALL GREEN INSECT, SHE SMACKED IT OFF BUT i CAN NOT FIND IT , IT LEFT ONE SMALL HOLE LIKE A STING ,AND HAS SWELLED UP AND IS GIVING HER SOME PAIN!!...I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS THAT BIT HER??

Hello and welcome to HCM,

I read youe query and understood your concern.
Redness, swelling and pain can be caused by any insect bite. Give her antiallergics like cetrizine/ loratadine and soothe the affected area with calamine. For pain I suggest give her ibuprofen.
I do not think there is any need to worry about it.
You can also apply topical corticosteroid like hydrocortisone for a quicker relief.
