Any Side Effects Of Blood Left In Stomach After Gall Bladder Surgery?
I had a gall bladder surgery and then was rushed right back into surgery because of internal bleeding due to a nicked vein. The doctor says she found and stopped the source of bleeding but did not suction out any of the blood that had filled my stomach due to the vein. Is this cause for concern and what can the short- and long-term effects of blood just left in my stomach?

Certain amount of blood is always left in abdomen and it usually dont cause any problems If there is larger amount of blood then it may also be asymptomatic and there is no need for treatment unless it become infected and an abscess forms. In this case it should be reoperated.
