Any Suggestion For Suffering From Thyroid Problem, Weight Gain And Irregular Periods?

Hi,

Am bindu. Age 24. single. I have thyroid problem. The reading was 9 when i checked few weeks back. I have irregular mensural cycle. and have been put on some weight in past few months,. i started taking 25mcg tab a day. Is this dosage works or do i need to follow homeopathy along with is? Kindly suggest.

Thanks for writing to HCM.

As you said the reading is 9 and taking 25mcg tablet so I shall presume that you are talking about your TSH level and taking levothyroxine & you have hypothyroidism (suboptimal thyroid functioning). Having said that I wish you had mentioned since how long you are talking the tablet. Anyways from the start of treatment it takes 6-8 weeks to reflect the treatment response in form of change in TSH. So if you have completed this period of treatment then you can get your TSH level checked. This will give you/your doctor about the response to treatment and this way the doctor can increase or decrease the dose as required. Now regarding homeopathy I am no expert of this field so can't comment very conclusively. However since you thyroid gland is functioning less and there is less thyroid hormone in your body so I think all that can help you is to provide the deficient hormone from outside and this is what you are doing by talking Lthyroxine 25mcg tablet.
