Below is the impression of an MRI scan done, please comment The examination was performed after detecting architectural distortion at the left breast in a previous mammogram dated 26th Feb. The current exam revealed no mass lesion or cyst at either breast in both T1 and T2 pulse sequences. The body coil axilliary views revealed no significant lymphadenopathy at either side. The post IV contrast injection series show diffuse glandular enhanscement estimated to be about 60% as the exam is performed during the last week of the menstural period. Focal intense enhancing spot is seen at the medial aspect of the left breast lower down at the junction of the accumulation and delayed rapid washout segment. Impression: Bilateral fibrodenosis with suspecious area at the left breast medial aspect lower down at the junction between the anterior and middle thirds, BIRADS 4
Thank you for asking your health related query at HCM. The MRI suggests that there is a suspicious area in your left breast (BIRADS 4 - is indicative that it is suspicious for malignancy). The next logical step would be to carry out a biopsy of this lesion to rule out cancer.
As the lesion is small, the biopsy would be done under ultrasound guidance.
You should consult a dedicated breast surgeon, who can carry out the biopsy and then proceed with the treatment.
