Are Anti-depressives A Permanent Cure For Tinnitus?

Is there a permanent cure for tinnitus ? Mine started with a minor head injury last year. Met two doctors, one of them neuro physician or neurologist, and both of them advised me against CT/MRI. They prescribed anti-depressives and related medicines.

Hi,in few patients,tinnitus might get cured and in few patients,tinnitus may not get cured.

Tinnitus is not a life-threatening condition.The more you give attention to the sound ,the more irritation you will feel.Try to avoid the Tinnitus Sounds.

You may find relief by taking Anti-depressants-These drugs can help relieve the stress, anxiety, and depression related to tinnitus.

You may also find relief by taking medicines like Tablet Betahistine(Vertin),Medicines containing Gingko Biloba(Bilowas),Multivitamin tablet containing Vitamin b1,b6,b12(like Neurobion forte).
You may also use Tinnitus masker.

Avoid listening to loud sounds as they may increase the problem of tinnitus.
You may also listen to white noise music(Available on you-tube).White noise has a masking effect on Tinnitus sound.
Brahmri Pranayam has a beneficial effect on tinnitus.
