Are Back Pain And Pressure On Cervix Normal During Pregnancy?
33 weeks pregnant and have major lower back pain causeing my legs to give out at times. i also have a constant prssure on my cervix which feels as though a babys foot is going to pop out! is this all normal? i have had 3 children already and don t remember it feeling like this?
The back and leg pain sound most like sciatica, which is caused by pressure of your uterus on the nerves that run to your legs as they exit your pelvis. I is a common condition in pregnancy, though not "normal" for everyone. tIf your uterus is low (which can happen after 3 previous pregnancies) it can cause the sensation of vaginal pressure you describe. You should have a pelvic examination to rule out premature labor but there are remedies for the discomfort you describe. Wearing some kind of back support or elastic girdle which will ease the pressure on your legs as well as your vagina. I would discuss this with your prenatal care provider and see if they can recommend a support garment for you to wear. I hope this answers your question and good luck with your pregnancy.
