Are Medicines Better In Treating An Ascending Aortic Aneurysm Than Surgery?
I am 58 have a 43 mm ascending aortic aneurysm and thought I should have a cardiac surgeon fix it straight away with surgery but my GP says there is no need and just treat it with BP meds. What is the point as it will not recover and I am surely better to do it while I am younger.
Asymptomatic , uncomplicated aortic aneurysm of size mentioned is not an indication for surgery. However good control of blood pressure for preventing progression and complications besides regular, periodic evaluation is required for any appropriate intervention.
