Are Skin Coloured Spots On The Back Of The Tongue Vcircumvallate Papillae Or Something Else?
I have medium/largish skin coloured spots on the back if my tongue are these circumvallate papillae, how can I tell? I also have one lone small lump that looks the same ish nearer the middle of my tongue have had for some time, I thought these were normal so did not worry, are there any signs or characteristics I should look for to show they are not just circumvallate papillae and something more serious?
Hello, Yes it can be possible that the spots you are mentioning can be circumvallate papillae only. As these papillae are present at the back side of the tongue, and they are distributed in V- shape, they in pink in color also. But in case if you think that they are sore and painful you have visit a dentist as the condition can be diagnosed. Thank you.
