Are There Any Alternates For Running Out Of Insulin In Emergency?
Hi my grandma ran out of insulin filled siringes, that she normally injects twice a day. She has not had any since 2 days. I am trying to reach someone to go by and fill up some syringes as she has insulin and syringes but can't do it by herself. However due to the holiday I cant seem to get a hold of anyone, her nurse is of for the holiday and has miscalculated propably. I live abroad and am now worried she will go into shock. She is fine for now only has a tingly feeling. What is the propability of her going into schok?
Hello thanx for using hcm,
As she is on insulin its better she learns it to take herself ,if thats not possible there should be some family member or nurse to assist her in this work, but its must its not like when ever somebody is available she will take and it ignore it when nobody is there.Person should be skilled enough to give insulin they should draw the right amount of insulin avoiding air bubbles, and know the right technique to give insulin. If they miss 1 or 2 doses of insulin they dont go in shock.
