Are Ventolin, Seretide And Prednisolone Advised To Treat Pneumonia?
I have a collapsed base of my left query from chest infect - pneumonia been on high doses of prednisolone starting 60 then decreased to 10mg by still had SOB -1515 mg THEN WENT UP TO 60 AGAIN now at 15 anyone until mg and struggling wit SOB ON EXCERTION - very emotional and low and not due to see anyone until 31st march - they discovered the collapse from x-ray and I am decreasing 5 mg every 3 rd day I am also on ventolin and seretide - I am frightened and feel lost in the system
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist with your chest x ray. You may need CT thorax to rule out collapse. You should also undergo bronchoscopy and BAL analysis from the collapsed segment. This will tell you weather infecgion is there or not and if infection present you can guide antibiotics according to culture and sensitivity report. And no need for prednisone untill infection is ruled out.
